The T.P.S. Suit
Ref: TPS
The Allweather Suit... Revolutionary!
Made with the combination of Neoprene and Titanium fabrics, this suit is lightweight, very supple, extremely comfortable, warm and dry. It is supplied with separate neoprene gloves and non-slip booties, but can be worn with any other footwear thanks to its integrated neoprene socks. Reflective panels on hood (at the top and each side) and arms provide nighttime safety. The grip reinforcement on knees and seat ensure maximum durability.
All in one... a dry, thermal, flotation and maneuver suit.
Its primary use is for normal activities onboard, maneuvers, steering or just to keep warm and dry. The suit is completely dry and does not require any inflatory device to make it buoyant. No dry zip is needed to keep it watertight.
It is also fitted with a harness.
The simplicity of this suit makes it unique. No mechanical part can go wrong or needs to be activated to make it work. It is also maintenance free and easy to don and take off. The T.P.S. suit is also very efficient, even in the worst possible conditions!
The minimum insulation required for an insulated inmmersion suit to be approved by SOLAS 74/83 (International Maritime Organization) is 0.75 CLO. This allows the wearer to be comfortable after 6 hours of immersion in water at a temperature around 33 degrees F.
As shown in the tests results the insulation qualities of the T.P.S. suit are 20% higher than what is required (0.9 CLO). If worn with warm underwear garments (in this case Guy Cotten fleece underwear) instead of jeans and T-shirt, the results of the test show a level of insulation of twice the amount required! (1.5 CLO).
It is the T.P.S. suit's extremely high thermal insulation properties that helped to save both Raphael DINELLI and Thierry DUBOIS during the 1997 VENDEE GLOBE AROUND THE WORLD RACE.
